Scheme of Recruitment for the Post of Senior Engineering
Teaching Assistant and Engineering Teaching Assistant, Grade I and II

Your reference is drawn to the schemes of recruitment applicable to Engineering Teaching Assistant grades sent with Commission Circular No. 301 of 27 th March 1985 .
At its 29 th meeting held on 13 th February, 1990 . The Commission having considered the recommendations made by the faculties of Engineering decided to amend the schemes of recruitment to the posts of Engineering Teaching assistant, grade I and II and to create a new promotional grade.
A copy of the new schemes of recruitment for senior engineering teaching assistant and engineering teaching assistant, grade I and II is annexed to this Circular.
The Commission has also decided that : -
(a)the new salary scales under 85 codes will apply only to the new recruits and to those in 8-03, 08-06 scales after their next promotion.
(b)Engineering Teaching Assistants currently on B-03 and B-06 salary scales will be under the same salary code only until their next promotion.
The Higher Educational Institutions/Institutes are requested to make appointments to the grades of engineering Teaching assistant on the salary scale denoted by BS Codes with the implementation of the new schemes or recruitment.
The present rules on the procedure for appointment will continue to apply to and in relation to appointment/promotion to these grades.
The new scheme of recruitements are effective from 15 th September 1989 .
