AMENDMENTS TO CHAPTER (VI) SUBSECTION 16:5 OF THE ESTABLISHMENTS CODE OF THE
UNIVERSITY grants COMMISSION AND THE HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS.
Your kind attention is drawn to paragraph 3 (i) of Commission Circular No.720 of 17th October 1997.
The University Grants Commission at its 563rd meeting held on 12th May 2000 decided to amend para 3(i) of the Commission Circular No.720 of 17th October 1997 as follows:
The maximum acting period should not exceed 03 months except in the case of officers who act for those who go on sabbatical leave/study leave. The Commission/Governing Authorities are authorized to extend this period up to a maximum of 06 months under exceptional circumstances.
Please take action accordingly.
