Your kind attention is invited to Commission Circular No.484 dated 09th August 1991 issued for implementing the amended scheme of recruitment of the post of Scientific Assistant. (BS-03).
I wish to inform you that the University Grants Commission at its 593rd meeting held on 27th July 2001 approved the Annexed scheme of recruitment for the post of Scientific Assistant Gr.I - (BS-02).
This scheme of recruitment is effective from 01.09.2001
Please take action accordingly.

(i)A first or second class(Upper Division) in a special degree examination in the relevant subject with 03 years experience after obtaining such degree qualification. OR (ii) A second class (lower division) in a special degree examination in the relevant subject with approved Postgraduate/Professional qualification. |
| By Promotion Selection by interview Note: If a internal candidate selected for the post of Scientific Assistant Grade I who has to be placed at a salary step specified after efficiency bar (EB) on promotion, he/she should be considered as having been exempted from the EB requirments. |
For internal Applicants: (i) A Scientific Assistant who is confirmed in the post and who has approved Postgraduate/Professional qualifications. OR (ii) A research assistant who has spent one year on the maximum of the salary scale and continued his post as per provision in commision circular No.453 dated 26th September 1990. |
