ADJUSTMENT OF SALARIES FOR RECTIFICATION OF ANOMALIES FOR ACADEMIC & ADMINISTRATiVE STAFF


Your attention is invited to Commission Circular Nos. 770 and 774 issued in respect of above subject.



Secretary to the Cabinet of Ministers by his letter No. /01/1950/023/009 dated 26th November 2001 has stated that the Cabinet of Ministers at its meeting held on 15th November 2001 has granted approval for allocation of Rs. 404 million required for payment of arrears of salaries arising out of the rectification of salary anomalies applicable to Academic & certain categories of Administrative Staff of the University System with effect from 01st January 1997.



Accordingly, the salary scales stipulated in Commission Circular No. 770 are effective from 01.01.1997. The salary Conversion Tables applicable to the salary scales revised for rectification of anomalies are sent herewith. Steps should be taken to convert the salaries of all posts that have been assigned B-01(a). B-01, B-02, B-03(a), B-03, B-04(a), B-04. A-01 & A- 01 (a) salary codes accordingly.

The Monthly Compensatory Allowance (MCA) applicable to the staff specified in Commission Circular No.770 came into operation with effect from 01.07.1998. Accordingly, the MCA of such staff, including the posts carrying salary codes of A-02, A-03(a), A-03(b) and A- 03, should also be adjusted as from that date.

Please follow the procedure stipulated in para 6.2 (Illustration II) and para. 6.3 (Illustration III) of Commission Circular No. 755 as the case may be for the adjustment of salaries stated above.



The other provisions applicable to the salary revision effected from 01.01.1997 will remain unchanged.



Please take action to make payment of 25% of arears once the funds are released by the Treasury. Instructions will be issued in respect of the balance payment of arrears in due course.
