EXTERNAL RECRUITMENT TO NON ADMINISTRATIVE POSTS IN THE UNIVERSITY SYSTEM
Your kind attention is invited to Commission Circular Nos.698 and 776 dated 31st January 1997 and 20th December 2000 respectively on the above subject.
The UGC at its 637th meeting held on 03rd July 2003 decided that Commission Circular No.776 be amended by including the Ministry of Tertiary Education and Training in place of the Ministry of Higher Education and Information Technology Development.
Accordingly, Step (1) given under Paragraph (1) of Commission Circular No.776 is amended to read as follows :
" University/Campus/Institute will inform the Ministry of Tertiary Education and Training with a copy to Chairman/UGC. the particulars of the posts to be filled (ie. the posts, approved Schemes of Recruitment of the posts where qualifications are specified and the number of vacancies).
The Ministry of Tertiary Education and Training will send direct to the University/Campus/Institute concerned a list of candidates with appropriate qualifications as per approved Scheme of Recruitment " .
It has been further decided by the Commission at its 642nd meeting held on 18th September 2003 to include the post of Computer Applications Assistant Grade III to the list of posts given under Paragraph (1) of Commission Circular No.698 dated 31st January 1997.
When the Higher Educational Institutions/Institutes request the list of applicants from the Ministry of Tertiary Education & Training it is necessary to indicate the qualifications required for each post as specified in the scheme of recruitment to enable the Ministry to send the qualified applicants for such posts.
