PROMOTIONAL PROSPECTS FOR INSTRUCTORS IN ENGLISH AND EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANTS
The Commission at its 652 d meeting held on 26th February 2004, has decided to make provisions for the present holders of the posts of Instructor in English and Educational Assistant to be appointed to the posts of Lecturer (Probationary) and Senior Lecturer Gr. II on the following basis:
In such instances, the posts held by such Instructors in English or Educational Assistants should be suppressed and the posts of Lecturer (Probationary) or Senior Lecturer should be created.i. Lecturer (Probationary) :
As and when such Instructors in English and Educational Assistants have 7 years' experience and earn a Master's Degree in the relevant field of one year's full-time or equivalent part-time duration with or without a research component.
ii. Senior Lecturer Gr. II:
As and when such Instructors in English or Educational Assistants have 8 years' experience and earn a 2-year full-time or equivalent part time Master's Degree with a significant component of research in the relevant field or any other higher level degree.
Action should be taken to keep the Commission informed of such appointments so as to enable it to make the necessary adjustments in the cadre of Higher Educational Institutions.
No new recruitments should be made to the posts of Instructor in English and Educational Assistant in future. The present holders of these posts who do not qualify under the above scheme will continue in their posts on
"personal to the holder" basis.
The provisions of this circular are effective from 01st May 2004.
Please take action accordingly.
