PAYMENT OF THE ALLOWANCE
This Circular has been modified by Circular No : 620
Your kind attention is drawn to my letter No . UGC/C/PS/9/7/1/1 dated 17th February 1993 which can be implemented now.
It has been decided, as an interim measure, to grant an allowance of Rs. 600 /- p.m. to all A-04 and A-03 categories of staff and Rs 750/- p.m. to all A-02 and A-01 categories of staff with effect from 07.01.1993 which would provide a suitable adjustment pending an over all restructuring of the salaries.
The allowances payable should be taken into account for the purpose of provident fund contributions, payment of gratuity, and in fixing the 60% limit when calculating the limits of deductions for loans granted.
All Higher Educational Institutions/Institutes are advised to send statements indicating the extra estimated cost to implement the above decision.
