AMENDMENTS TO CHAPTER VI, SUB-SECTION 16: 5 OF THE ESTABLISHMENTS CODE
OF THE UNIVERSITY GRANTS COMMISSION AND THE HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
This Circular has been cancelled by Circular No : 720
Your kind attention is drawn to clause ii of paragraph 3 of Commission Circular No.582 of 24th August 1993.
The UGC at its 434th meeting held on 13th January 1995 has accepted the recommendation of the Committee of Vice-chancellors and Directors and the Standing Committee on University Staff Service Conditions to pay an acting allowance to officers who act for those who go on Sabbatical Leave.
Accordingly, paragraph 3 of Commission Circular No.582 is amended as follows:-
" The Commission also decided that the following conditions should be applicable in this connection :-
(i) All permanent vacancies should be filled within a period of 06 months.
(ii) Those who are acting in another post should perform full duties of their substantive post.
(iii) Those who are acting and receiving the 50% acting allowance will not be entitiled to any holiday pay "
The above amendment is effective from the date of implementation of Commission Circular No.582 i.e. 01st January 1992.
Please take action accordingly.
