FEES AND TRAVELING OF VISITING STAFF
Your attention is drawn to the following Commission Circulars :-

(iii) Cir. No. 590 of 17.11.1993
(iv) Cir. No. 562 of 08.03.1993
The University Grants Commision has decided to enhance the rates of payment applicable to Visiting Staff in the following manner :-

| (1) | Postgraduate Courses | ||
| Lecture | 200 /- | 500 /- | |
| Practicals | 75 /- | 250 /- | |
| (2) | Undergraduate Courses | ||
| Lecture | 150 /- | 300 /- | |
| Practicals | 75 /- | 150 /- | |
| (3) | Pre-University Courses | ||
| Lecture | 100/- | 150/- | |
| Practicals | 75/- | 100 /- | |
| (4) | Visiting Instructors | 100 /- | 150 /-* |
* (other than English Instructors)
The above categories of visiting staff are eligible for travelling in terms of the existing Government rates.
The Commission has also decided to enhance the rates of payment to Visiting Instructors in English in the following manner:

| (i) | Those recruited on contract basis for the Intensive Course in English | 3250/- | 5000/- |
| (Persons recruited on (i) above should work for not less than 25 hours a week.) | |||
| (ii) | those recruited on the hourly rate - Rs. 125 /- per hour.(Working hours of the category (ii) above be limited to 15 hours a week. | ||
The revised rates are effective from 01.01.1996. Please take action accordingly.
