PERIOD OF INTERNSHIP SERVED AS INTERN MEDICAL OFFICER
Your reference is drawn to the letter No. UGC/HR/2/3/106 of 09th October 2006 on the subject of reckoning the period of service as Intern Medical Officer of the Ministry of Health for the purpose of appointment (by open advertisement) or promotion to the post of Senior Lecturer Grade II (Medical).
The Commission at its 756th meeting held on 22.05.2008 has decided to extend the same provision for recruitment to the post of University Medical Officer as well. Therefore, the Higher Educational Institutions/Institutes may consider the period of service as Intern Medical Officer for the purpose of reckoning the required period of experience for appointment to the post of University Medical Officer.
Please take action accordingly.
