UNIFORMS TO MINOR EMPLOYEES
This Circular has been modified by Circular No : 505
1.Your attention is drawn to Establishments Circular Letter No. 15/1989 of 30th October 1989 issued in connection with the above matter.
2.Having considered the recommendations of the CVCD and the Subcommittee of the UGC, the Commission approved the payment of the allowances set out in the schedule I annexed to this Circular in respect of categories of employees who are presently eligible to receive uniforms, except Security Personnel.
3.The Commission also decided that the allowances should be paid subject to following conditions :-
(a) The payment of allowance should be made before 31st January each year.
(b) Stitched Uniforms should be presented within two months from the date of receipt of the allowance to the Head of the Department who should issue a Certificate to that effect to Secretary/Director/Registrar.
(c) If any employee fails to submit the certificate within the stipulated period or does not wear the uniform the Secretary / Director/Registrar will take action to recover the allowance paid to him in six monthly instalments. His eligibility to receive any uniform allowance will be cancelled thereafter.
(d) The employees entitled for uniforms should wear the uniforms while on duty.
4. The provisions of this Circular are effective from 1st January 1991 .
5. If the Higher Educational Institutions and Institutes have not issued uniform material so far, the Institutions/Institutes concerned may make payment to those eligible, even though the payment has to be made before 31st January in terms of paragraph 3 ' (a) above.
