PROMOTION OF EMPLOYEES CARRYING SALARY SCALES FROM A-05 TO A-14


The University Grants Commission at its 556th meeting held on 11th February 2000 decided to inform all the Higher Educational Institutions/Institutes that applications for promotions should be invited from those who carry from A-05 to A-14 salary scales treating the date of eligibility for promotion as 01st January of each year.

Accordingly, applications for grade to grade promotions of all posts carrying A-05 to A-14 salary scales be called annually from those eligible for promotions as at 31st December of every year and the candidates selected for promotions should be promoted to the next higher grade with effect from 01st January of the next year.

A schedule of posts indicating the required number of years of service for promotion to the next higher grade be made available to employees along with the advertisement calling for applications.

Provisions of this circular are effective from 01.01.2001. You are kindly informed to bring the contents of this circular to the notice of employees.

Please take action accordingly.
