PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL FORM -EXECUTIVE GRADES
The University Grants Commission has decided to introduce a system of appraisal for evaluating the performance of the members of the Executive Staff for identifying the strengths and weaknesses, training needs and standards of performance and to use such factors for the purposes of taking corrective action, training & development and payment of increments, etc.
The Commission at its 582nd meeting approved the annexed Performance Appraisal Form formulated for this purpose.
The Higher Educational Institutions are requested to use the above Performance Appraisal Form for appraisal of the Executive Staff after making suitable amendments in the form relating to the Officer recommending and approving. In doing so you are kindly requested to
- (a) define the tasks of the officer concerned in a quantifiable manner (as much as possible) in the space provided for the purpose.
- (b) identify strengths of the employee.
- (c) identify weaknesses of the employee
- (d) propose corrective action.
- (e) propose training needs.
- (f) consider granting of Increments.
- (g) follow the normal procedure laid down in the Establishments Code in suspending, stopping, reducing or differing increments, if increments are not granted.
The provision of the circular are effective from 03.12.2001.
