SALARY ANOMALIES IN THE PROMOTIONAL SCHEMES
The UGC, having considered the anomalies which arise as a result of some employees receiving lower monetary benefits on promotion/appointment to a higher grade consequent to their not being eligible to receive certain allowances, decided that when an employee in the University System is promoted/appointed to a higher grade/post, his/her total salary and allowances should not be less than that he/she has been drawing prior to the promotion/appointment.
The Commission Circulars No. 506 of 21st January 1992 and No. 510 of 31st March 1992 were issued based on the above decision.
The Commission having considered further anomalies which exist in the salary structure, decided that all employees in the following salary codes excluding those who are/were benefitted under Commission Circular No. 506 dated 21.01.1992 and No. 510 of 31.03.1992 be paid the amounts indicated as follows:-
(a) A-05 and A-05(a) Grades
From 01.11.1990 to 31.12.1991 - Rs.200/- p.m.
From 01.01.1992 onwards - Rs.300 /- p.m. (with an additional allowance of Rs.100/- paid in January 1992)
(b) A-08 and A-10 Grades
From 01.01.1990 to 31.05.1990 - Rs. 200 /- p.m.
From 01.06.1990 onwards - Rs. 90 /- p.m.
From 01. 11 .1990 onwards - Rs. 100 /- p.m
(c) A-11 Grades
From 01.01.1990 to 31.05.1990 - Rs. 200 /-p.m.
From 01.06.1990 onwards - Rs. 90 /- p.m.
From 01.11.1990 onwards - Rs.100/- p.m
This allowance should be reckoned for the purpose of calculating contributions to the university Provident Fund and the payment of gratuity, loans and overtime.
Please take action accordingly to implement the decision of the Commission.
