SABBATICAL LEAVE TO TEACHERS & OFFICERS
Your kind attention is invited to the provisions in Commission Circular No.408 dated 20 October, 1989 and subsequent amendments on Sabbatical Leave to teachers and officers.
2. The Commission at its 750th meeting held on 07 February, 2008 has decided that the following provisions should be made applicable for the purpose of granting of sabbatical leave;
| (a) | A Letter/Letters of Placement for the entire period of Sabbatical Leave to be spent locally or abroad should be submitted by the applicant along with the request for Sabbatical Leave. |
| (b) | Purpose of obtainingSabbatical Leave should be clearly specified in the request. Sabbatical Leave would be allowed only for employment and Professional Development purposes. |
| (c) | Requests for Sabbatical Leave should be first evaluated by the Leave and Awards Committee presently functioning at Universities & Institutions for final approval of governing authorities. |
| (d) | Passage should be granted only once for the entire period of Sabbatical leave taken together, even if the candidate has completed 14 years of service. |
3. The other provisions which are presently in force on sabbatical leave will continue to apply where they are not inconsistent with the provisions of this Circular.
4. The provisions of this Circular will be effective from 01.07.2008.
