DAMAGES CAUSED TO UNIVERSITY PROPERTIES BY STUDENTS
The University Grants Commission having noted that students have caused damages to university properties at certain instances, decided to make them accountable for such damages and charge the cost of damages from responsible individuals or reduce the cost of damages from the allocations made to student councils.
Therefore at such instances identified individual students or group of students responsible for the damages (caused to university properties) become accountable for the damages and the cost of damages should be charged from them.At instances where it is evident that students are responsible for the damages but individuals or groups cannot be identified, the cost of such damages should be reduced from the allocations made to particular Student Council or Student Councils in respect of the incident.
The provision of this Circular will be effective from 1st December 2008.
Please take action accordingly.
