CHANGE OF RATIOS STIPULATED IN THE PROMOTIONAL SCHEMES OF CLERKS,
LIBRARY ASSISTANTS, SHroffs, STORE KEEPERS AND TECHNICIANS.
Your attention is drawn to the ratios stipulated in the chapter III & IV of the Schemes of Recrutiment and procedure for appointment of the staff of the Higher Educational Institutions & Institutes issued by the University Grants Commission in 1986.
The University Grants Commission at the request of the Sri Lanka Vishvavidyalayeea Lipikara Ha Karmika Seva Sangamaya has decided to revise the existing ratios applicable for promotions to the above mentioned posts in the following manner.

Accordingly, the service conditions stipulated in the following paragraphs of chapter III and IV of t he Schemes of Recruitment and Procedure for appointment to the staff of the Higher Educational Institutions and Institutes issued by the UGC are hereby amnended.
Chapter III - C. Schemes of Recruitment of clerical and allied grades
(a) Clerical service-conditions
Para (3) Promotion to Clerk Gr.I will be considered annually and the ratio between posts of clerks, Supra Grade, Grade I and the combined posts of Clerk Gr. II and III will be maintained at 3:10:57
(b) Library Asst.
Para (2) The ratio between posts of Library Assists. Supra Grade, Grade I and the combined posts of Gr. II and III will be maintained at 3:10:57
(c) Shroffs service-conditions
Para (2) Promotion to Shroff Gr. I will be considered annually, and the ratio between posts of Shroff, Gr. I and the combined posts of Shroff, Gr. II and Gr. Ill will be maintained at 1 :6
(d) Store Keeper service-conditions
Para (2) Promotion to Store Keepers, Gr. I will be considered annually and the ratio between posts of Store Keeper, Gr.I and combined posts of Store Keeper Gr. II and III will be maintained at 1:6
(e) Chapter IV D — Scheme of Recruitment of Technical Grades Technicians Service Conditions
Para (4) Promotion of Supra Grade and Grade. I will be considered annually. The ratio between Technicians Supra Grade, Grade I and Grade II will be maintained at 2:5:13.
The revised ratios have been taken into consideration for promotions due in 1989 and subsequent years.
