PAYMENT OF DISTRESS LOANS
The University Grants Commission has decided to implement Public Administration Circular No. 19/94 on payment of salary loans. Accordingly, employees of Higher Educational Institutions who are eligible to obtain 6 months salary as a distress loan, will be eligible to obtain 10 months salary as a distress loan with immediate effect. The Circular will be implemented subject to the following conditions:-
1. The loan will be recovered in 60 instalments.
2. Employees will be permitted to renew the loan after the repayment of 18 instalments.
The University Grants Commission will not provide any extra funds to implement this circular.
