ALLOWANCE FOR THE PURCHASE OF RESOURCE MATERIAL REQUIRED FOR TEACHING, RESEARCH AND DISSEMINATION OF KNOWLEDGE (BOOK ALLOWANCE)
Your kind attention is invited to following Circulars issued in respect of the above matter :-
(i) Commission Circular No.558 of 3rd February 1993
(ii) Commission Circular No.604 of 6th June 1994
(iii) Commission Circular No.514 of 26th December 1994
(iv) Commission Circular No.616 of 30th December 1994.
The University Grants Commission at its 433rd meeting held on 30th December 1994 has approved the payment of a Book Allowance to all graduates in the CS categories of staff who are involved in teaching/research, in terms of Commission Circular No.558 with effect from 01.01.1993. This payment is applicable to permanent staff only.
The arrears can be paid only to those who were in service on 01.01.1995.
With the implementation of the provisions of this Circular, para I(d) of Commission Circular No. 604 is amended to read as "non-graduates in the CS-01 to CS-05". This amendment is effective from the date of implementation of Circular No. 604.
You are kindly requested to note that the provision made in Circular No 616 of 30th December 1994 and this Circular is subject to the provision of Commission Circular No.614 of 26th December 1994.
Please take action accordingly.
