RECRUITMENT, CONFIRMATION AND PROMOTION OF LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER AND CORRESPONDING LIBRARY STAFF
Your attention is invited to paragraph 2 of Commission Circular No. 653 dated 14th November 1995 on the above subject.
The University Grants Commission at its meeting held on 28th February 1997 has decided to authorize Universities/Institutes to confirm Probationary Lecturers who had a Special Degree with at least a Second Class (Lower Division) and a Masters Degree of 02 years duration with a research component by way of Thesis/Dissertation at the time of their recruitment provided that there is evidence of continuing research subject to fulfilling the following requirements:-
| (a) | 03 years of satisfactory service as a Lecturer (Probationary) in the permanent cadre, | |
| (b) | the adequacy of research (Monographs, published and unpublished papers including text books) for the purpose of confirmation has been evaluated by a suitable panel appointed by the Senate. |
